Out-of-pocket costs are typically higher when seeing an Integrative Medicine physician than when seeing a traditional doctor, as Integrative doctors spend considerably more time with their patients than other doctors do. Complex patient records and labs must also be reviewed and prepared in detail before appointments. Please note, consultations are used to assess goodness of fit between patient and physician, and do not indicate a patient doctor relationship.
While we understand that personal circumstances sometimes make it necessary for you to cancel your appointment, please notify us as soon as you know you will not be able to keep your appointment. Short-notice cancellations and missed appointments or “no-shows’ prevent us from offering the appointment to other patients wishing to be seen
As stated in the office policies, appointments not cancelled at least two business days in advance are considered “late cancellations” and will be charged the full appointment fee.
PLEASE NOTE – For patients scheduled for custom infusions, if you cancel your appointment within two business days, you will be charged for the infusion, in addition to the appointment fee. Infusions can cost several hundred dollars, with the exact cost varying depending on the type of treatment.
Our practice does not accept any form of medical insurance. However, we provide detailed statements (Superbills) that contains diagnosis and procedure codes so you may easily file a claim with your insurance company yourself. To simplify the process, we recommend calling your insurance company prior to scheduling an appointment or new treatment to find out what your specific plan will cover.
We have found that some insurance companies request additional information that is very specific and specialized to that provider. Given the large number of discrepancies between what each company requires and the time needed to meet those requests, we do not assist with insurance reimbursement above and beyond the diagnosis and procedure codes provided on Superbills.
Please be aware that some of the procedures and treatments recommended for you by Dr. Namavar may be determined to be non-covered or may be considered “not medically necessary” based on the benefits provided by your specific insurance plan.
